Dear High School Students and Families:
On behalf of the Hemet District Family, we thank you for your continued patience as we work to find creative and innovative solutions and strategies to support our students’ educational journey. We recognize this is an extremely uncertain time. We especially recognize the impact school closures are having on our students and families. As information continues to develop regarding school closures, we will work to keep you updated. We continue to receive additional guidance from local, state, and federal sources. We know we will get through this together.
Things are changing quickly but here are a couple of updates:
Graduation/End of Year Activities:
At this time, we do not have an update on end-of-year senior activities. One thing is certain, it is not a question of if we are going to celebrate your commencement from high school but how and when.
Grades/Credits:
There are many questions that you might have regarding graduation requirements, credits, and grades. We are continuing to work with the county, state, and federal officials to receive guidance. We will keep you updated as we gather more information.
Summer School Applications:
Any HUSD Summer School application can be dropped off at any HUSD’s Meal Distribution location. Click on the application, to access PDF versions of summer school applications.
SATs:
CollegeBoard has canceled makeup exams for the March 28 administration. College Board has also canceled the May 2 administration. Please contact College Board for refunds.
ACTs:
ACT has rescheduled its April 4 national test date to June 13 across the United States. All students registered for the April 4 test date will receive an email from ACT in the next few days informing them of the postponement and instructions for free rescheduling to June 13 or a future national test date.
AP exams:
Traditional face-to-face exam administrations will not take place, instead, students will take exams at home, online. The AP Program is developing resources to help schools support student learning during extended closures. An exam schedule will be available on April 3. Portfolio deadlines have been extended to May 26. We are currently planning on how to support AP students, please continue to check your school email for updates.
MSJC Dual Enrollment:
At this time no assignments will be required for face-to-face classes through April 6. As we approach April 6, we will provide you with an update.
