Workshops and Classes

Every month, starting September 2023 through May 2024, in partnership with Daybreak, and Riverside University Health System- Behavioral Health, the Wellness and Community Outreach Center will host a parent workshop on various mental health topics. All workshops will take place via ZOOM, and interpretation services in Spanish will be available. Please note there are different registration links for each class.
 
Communication with your Child
May 1, 2024, 5-6 p.m.
Learning Objectives:
  • Learn techniques for effective communication without conflict.
    Learn how to broach difficult conversations with your child.

Healthy Relationships

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn why healthy relationships matter.
    Signs of healthy vs. unhealthy relationships.
    Strategies for helping your child to communicate effectively and set appropriate boundaries.

Parent Power is a 2-hour class for parents looking for strategies to address children displaying troubling behavior and learn effective methods for getting kids to school. The class is offered through the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Crime Prevention Unit, and takes place via ZOOM.

The EES Education Program consists of 11-13 sessions; each session is 2 hours and is offered to parents/caregivers raising a child/youth with mental health and/or emotional challenges. Classes are designed to provide parents/caregivers with general education about children's mental health challenges, parent-to-parent support, and community resources. The class will meet once a week, starting January 22 - April 22.
